Basic Qualifications:

Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of related professional experience.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A 
 
Additional Requirements:
- General application of concepts, techniques and standards in general business analysis, as well as IT principles and practices.
- Analysis/documentation of processes, methods, solutions, etc.
- Interpretive - translates business processes and requirements into system specifications.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. 

Summary:
Responsible for identifying and documenting business processes through interviewing clients and reviewing and analyzing existing systems and processes.
Articulates interrelationships and recasts business flow into system specifications.
Conducts gap analyses to document discrepancies between business requirements and system capabilities.
May develop project plans and ensure plan adherence.
As system development progresses, may have input into reporting requirements/report development, user interfaces, and coordinates or conducts UAT and the final evaluation of the system solution.
Serves as liaison between line business (client) and the IT organization. 

Essential Responsibilities:
- Requirements definition and analysis:
collects and researches specific client requirements for projects, identifies requirements, gathers workflow data and basic system and reporting specifications.
- Project planning and execution:
participates in project management process, including participating in project meetings.
May document issues, action items, user requirements, or deliverables from project meetings.
Performs a variety of project related activities, including analysis or preparation of documentation and presentations.
Accomplishes all work within established methodologies and standards.
- Business User/Owner Application Support:
Provides 2nd and 3rd tier application support for assigned application(s).
Monitors production batch and ad hoc jobs as required to ensure proper functioning and completion of business operations.
Researches and resolves technical and functional issues according to defined prioritization/severity scheme.
- Business and Process Improvement:
Identifies opportunities for business or process improvement; makes associated recommendations as appropriate

Major Responsibilities:
• Business applications data quality 
o Generate and analyze reports from Legal systems and perform data quality review to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
o Oversee and coordinate automation and monitoring of Legal systems data quality checks with Legal IT.

• Requirements definitions and analysis 
o In conjunction with the Client's IT, consult with clients, management and staff to determine database requirements, and ensure consistent process and data definitions. 
o Consult with users to gather data reporting requirements; articulate functional requirements to Legal IT and coordinate development of data reports.

• Business User/Owner Application Support 
o Provide 1st level support to PPL outside vendors on eBilling issues
o Liaise with LBS team in supporting PPL section/users on eBilling or invoice related issues
o Provide 1st level support for Legal applications and users. 
o Monitors end user submitted issues and progress by production support team. 
o Oversee and coordinate end user training on Legal applications.
o Oversee and coordinate user provisioning with Legal IT and Legal onboarding/offboarding team.
o Liaise with Legal IT and production support to help solve Legal end user applications issues, triage issues for referral to Legal IT.
o Maintain expert knowledge of Department applications and interfaces between applications, reporting process and data capture.

• Business and Process Improvement 
o Track TeamConnect enhancements, fixes and updates. Coordinate assignments of work and track status. Identify opportunities for business or process improvement; makes associated recommendations as appropriate of the software across the Department. 
o Collaborate with Legal IT consultants/technical support and other consultants to make necessary modifications and enhancements to Department databases.

• Business Applications User Access Management 
o Act as review monitor for required Legal applications reviews
o General user access lists for Legal applications quarterly review
o Act as evidence custodian with primary responsibility for the collection, storage, protection and retrieval

Description:
Business Systems Analysts study the overall business and information needs of an organization, in order to develop solutions to business and related technology problems.
A Business Systems Analyst's role is usually undertaken prior to the system design, building and programming stages of the systems development process.
Works closely with clients to identify business needs and the costs and benefits of implementing a computing solution.
Construct IT definitions based on identified needs of the organization.
Work with other IT experts to address networking and hardware needs.
Devise and document a general system design based on the client's anticipated requirements.
Negotiate options with the client.
