BS in Business Administration, Health Care, Public Health, Finance, Business Medical Records Technology or equivalent degree and/or experience.

Position Summary:
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Consultant is responsible for conducting end to end forensic analysis and investigation of identified EHRs, and for recommending/coordinating clinical correction documentation. This requires review and analysis of all documentation contained within the EHR, the ability to interpret medical information contained within the EHR, an independent assessment of required remediation. Read and interpret all clinical documentation to determine what needs to be remediated within the EHR specific to Encounters, Orders/Results (LAB,RAD,EEG, EKG, MEDS) and all other relevant documentation contained within the EHR specific to chronic conditions, problems, and/or medical history. The consultant, while investigating the EHRs, will need to identify problems based on the documentation within the EHRs and to identify the appropriate remediation plan. The EHR Consultant will then develop a proposed remediation plan, review, and obtain approval for the proposed plan.
Qualifications:
Four to six years demonstrated experience conducting Medical Record audits.
Minimum of four years medical center operations or clinical experience.
Proficiency with using Clients Proprietary System. Ability to interpret Electronic Health Record (EHR) charting errors including, but not limited to Diagnosis, Pharmacy, Radiology, LABS. Knowledge of Clients Legacy Systems (RILIS, CIPS, MRMS, TRRS, PARRS, Foundation System). Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality of all medical record content.
Strong interpersonal and excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to identify and present medical EHR charting issues and determine what clinical data belongs to what EHR. Possess organizational maturity to identify and manage issues encountered beyond their scope of practice. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Ability to read and interpret medical data and make decisions based on their independent interpretation. Manage work to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Looks for ways of improving the way we get things done. Strong proponent of change. Willingness to be flexible depending upon department and scheduling needs. Demonstrated ability to review analytical data and audit findings to identify error trends and other risk areas. Demonstrated ability to develop data requirements and work with analytical groups to extract, organize and analyze data. Experience using PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Must be able to work in a Labor / Management Partnership environment.
Duties:
Identifies and analyzes electronic health record incidents and manage escalation of issues to the appropriate parties.
Investigates and analyzes EHR incidents. Make independent fact based decisions based on clinical review and document all EHR entries attached to the identified incident to determine what clinical data belongs where
Develops initial action plan for recommended remediation of EHR incident.
Establishes effective working relationships and communicates effectively with local and regional staff/teams/leadership. Manages review of findings with local representatives, confirming the findings, addressing any issues and finalizing the appropriate remediation plan.
Ensures documentation is complete and accurate for hand off to EHR remediators.
