BA/BS degree in a relevant discipline such as health information management preferred.
Certification (A Must):
Certificate of completion of a formal course of instruction in medical coding with one of the following credentials:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Two (2) years or more recent management experience required.
This includes experience in assisting staff with developing annual goals, completing self-assessments and performance evaluations.
In addition, must have the ability to track, monitor and enforce employee attendance and key performance indicators.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, project management, and budget management required.
Must be proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Visio, etc.).
Must have interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with providers, leadership, senior administrators, colleagues and compliance auditing staff. Possess excellent facilitation and presentation including written and verbal communication skills.
Must be available to work flexible days, hours and must be able to travel between all medical center facilities if required.
Position may include assignment to various medical centers and/or regional offices.
The Data Quality Manager (DQM) is responsible for the management of regional audit teams working within the Clinical Documentation and Audit Operations Department.
The manager is responsible for ensuring the data quality and integrity of their assigned audit areas.
This requires using strong managerial oversight and leadership skills in order to ensure that the Compliance Auditors are applying federal, state and internal Clients' guidelines and policies consistently and accurately.
The DQM role requires the ability to analyze and identify audit trends and outcomes in order to remediate and improve overall coding quality and completeness.
The individual must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to specific deadlines and productivity requirements.
In addition, the DQM is responsible for ensuring that the teams are meeting the specific target goals and metrics as established by the leadership team.
The DQM is responsible for developing a high-performing team culture allowing individual and collective team growth opportunities.
This requires coaching and providing constructive feedback in order to continually improve and enhance their staff’s core competencies.
Additionally, the DQM must advocate and support a culture of team work not only amongst the Regional but also the Medical Center Audit teams.
