THIS IS A CONTRACT TO HIRE (For Right Candidate)
*REMOTE WORKER** .
They can work any hours, as long as they are getting the work done, however if they need to speak to me on the phone they would have to call during 8 - 5 Hawaii time.
Minimum Education - Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor degree preferred.
REQUIRED:
Experience: 7 years Administrative Support OR 3 years functional analytical experience.
Certification: CAISS and/or CSTR -
Fluency in abstracting charts for Hawaii trauma registry and being well versed in the NTDB hierarchy, AIS and ICD-10 coding for diagnosis and procedures.
**Preferred Experience:
2 years at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center OR 4 years experience at a Level III Trauma Center.
Proficient in Excel
Should Have: Medical Terminology
Duties:
1. Go to the online Registry and enter data as required.
2. Procedural and Diagnostic Coding in ICD-10.
I PARTICIPATES IN THE DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE TRAUMA REGISTRY
Abstracts data, performs data entry, validation, analysis as needed to maintain the Trauma Databases in a concurrent state within 60 days after discharge
Determines ICD10 procedure, mechanism (e-codes), and injury codes and AIS05 severity codes appropriate for injuries and complications/ PI Issues throughout the medical record
Participates in evaluation of trauma patients and the system through report-writing and graphic presentation of the data at monthly PIPS meetings as well as other analyses as required
Participates in reports as requested by the trauma medical director trauma program manager, and trauma quality registrar through data abstraction, data analysis, data validation
Assists with maintenance of the registry data points to meet ACS standards as well as state, county, and national requirements for data
II MAINTAINS THE IN-HOUSE TRAUMA LOG
Identifies new trauma patients and maintains the log of current trauma patients through evaluation of the in-house census and emergency department log; includes repatriations
Disseminates the list daily to the direct patient care providers as assigned, specifically the trauma program manager, trauma CNS, and trauma medical director
Performs other duties and special assignments as assigned.
III SUPPORTS TRAUMA PROGRAM OPERATIONS AND THE TRAUMA PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Prepares data for quarterly EMS/Trauma Audit Committee for Solano County. Prepares reports to support ongoing program planning, site survey preparation, research projects, PIPS meetings, individual patient audits, and other required reports
Assists with the identification of trends in patient care, complications, and/or PI audits and reports these promptly to the Trauma Program Manager/Trauma Medical Director.
Prepares for and attends PIPS meetings as a trauma data resource. Attends county and statewide trauma related meetings as required
Supports the Trauma Program through registry analysis of common mechanisms and locations for prevention initiatives as requested
IV. PARTICIPATES IN MONITORING COMPLIANCE WITH TRAUMA SERVICE STANDARDS OF PATIENT CARE
Audits Trauma Registry on a monthly basis for data validation and completeness
Reports performance improvement and complication issues to Trauma Program Manager/Trauma Medical Director.
Assists with the research of performance improvement issues identified as appropriate
Maintains and enhances current trauma knowledge through attendance at appropriate trauma conferences/meetings and participation in local and national level trauma registry projects to include trauma registry, ICD10 coding, AIS severity coding, and trauma performance improvement courses.
Provides list of incomplete charts to the Director of Health Information Management.
Communicates documentation/care issues to the Trauma Program Manager/Trauma Medical Director.
