Role sits in the Marketing organization so Marketing experience preferred. We’re looking for a positive, skilled person who collaborates well, can operate autonomously as needed while knowing how to manage in all directions. Highly talented leader who loves thinking about how to present digital content in a fresh, effective, user-centric way. Able to strategize across a multitude of channels, but focuses on Web. Experience writing and editing marketing content from a UX perspective required; journalism experience a plus.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 5+ years’ experience in content strategy – planning, researching, and creating interactive content – and 5+ years experience writing and editing for digital media required. Or master’s degree and 2 years’ experience.
• Some experience managing teams required. (3-5 years preferred experience).

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years' minimum experience in content strategy, plus editorial experience
• Editorial and journalism background preferred.
• Experience building this function/infrastructure for a company
• Experience working cross-functionally, across the organization
• Experience creating and managing editorial calendars, and in personalizing content for different audiences
• Proven ability to interpret data and express implications of analysis to clients, using data to content measurement and management
• Marketing experience; professional writing and journalism experience
• Content, writing, presentation skills required to help this person effectively communicate and share recommendations and build business cases

• Self starter – proactive, positive leader who can initiate and keep work moving while aligning to larger leadership, business, and organizational direction
• Ability to evangelize and socialize content strategy standards and processes to stakeholders
• Proven skill managing content projects, priorities, and workload
• High tolerance for ambiguity matched by a deep passion for organizing it
• Familiarity with multiple CMS platforms and comfort level as an active content builder and editor

Major Responsibilities:
• Lead a 4-6 member content strategy team with joy and excitement. Gain satisfaction by setting expectations and building a high-performing, happy team that applies people’s strengths and helps them bring their best to work every day.
Also able to identify and manage team members who are not able to deliver against expectations.
• Team is in “build” mode – so this person will be continuing to build the team, its workflows, and processes to support.
• Drive content strategy in both content planning and content recommendations – based on industry/market trends, data and analytics, user research/insights, business goals, marketing programs and initiatives, and on a project by project level. Marketing based content strategy focused on key consumer strategies and initiatives like the “joining” experience of becoming a Clients' member, building a content strategy for B2B 1st sale (and then extending that thinking to the employee “2nd sale”)
• Lead a team who builds insights to inform future content creation to support the editorial and design team in building out new, effective content to drive business goals
• This person will also be helping shape the direction of content strategy and content planning, working with leadership to define the future-state approach of this function within Marketing
• This person will also support the organization in thinking about content across multiple digital properties, including migration, integration, cross-site relationships for content
• The person will lead the creation of and create deliverables and storyboards – PPTs, Excel, calendars, other materials – and share them with internal teams, stakeholders, and potentially executive leadership
• Must engage with multiple teams and stakeholders across organization to gather and curate information – analytics, marketing strategy, product strategy, digital strategy, etc
• May lead some content architecture / building content directly in the CMS
